Orchiata is known as one of the best orchid growing media due to its hard structure and beneficial properties.  Orchiata is produced solely from Pinus radiata bark grown in New Zealand and is one of the most stable bark types. Orchiata is an aged product; this allows the bark particle to hold water and nutrients on the outside while retaining the hard structure in the center. In the aging process minerals are added for pH adjustment and improving the calcium and magnesium for plant growth. The aging process also encourages the development of beneficial microorganisms for protection against plant pathogens.  I believe this is the best Orchid bark available on the market today.
