Rupicolous Laelia hybrids

I have grown these species for many years; the flowers are like little jewels and the little plants are tough and robust. Rupicolous means “rock dwelling” and in nature this is where they grow. The species have a reputation as being difficult to cultivate. It’s not that these plants are so difficult to grow, but special attention is needed when repotting. Repot only as new roots are growing and keep the plants in the smallest pot practical.

What is being offered here is the ‘new wave’ of hybrids that represent the latest in rupicolous breeding, these are complex crosses.

As compared the species, these hybrids are considerably easier to grow and they bloom in 3” pots. They posses the same flower shape and charm but with increased flower size, count and unique new color combinations. These crosses have really surprised me on how well they grow. These are new and unique.
