Lc. Tokyo Magic ‘6-1’ AM/AOS x Blc. Final Touch 'Lemon Chiffon'  AM/AOS

Tokyo Magic (Lc. Irene Finney x L. briegeri) is a proven breeder where good flower shape and presentation are dominant.  Final Touch (Lc. Drumbeat x Slc. California Apricot) has beautiful full shaped flowers of large size in a nice soft yellow all on a compact plant.  These are going to be shapely yellow flowers with red lips held on a strong stems carrying 3-4 blooms on a nice compact plant, they are already blooming in 3" pots.     Nice combination

Pot. Burana Beauty ‘Burana’ HCC/AOS x Sc. Beaufort ‘Big Circle’

A new attempt at breeding mini-cats with yellow flowers and red flares on the petals. These will be very compact growers with 3-5 colorful flowers, quick to mature and flower.

L. Finckeniana (L. anceps ‘Discplinata’ HCC/AOS x L. albida ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS)
This is a remake of a classic primary hybrid.  Here we have used an unusually colored anceps with flecks and splashes on the petals.  These will be blooming in lavender with some flowering with flecks of purple.  Cool temperature tolerant plants, these will grow well outside in frost free areas.

Lc. Trick or Treat ‘Orange Magic’ AM/AOS x Pot. Rubescence ‘SVO’ AM/AOS

Marvelous clusters of red to orange-red flowers.  These plants will stay under 12” tall and carry 6 flowers or more on nice stems.  These have been quick to grow, showing good vigor and blooming early.  Great show plants!

Slc. Circle Spirit ‘SVO’ x Lc. Jose Dias Castro ‘Magnifica’

First to bloom was a glowing cerise purple with a velvet dark purple lip.  A very compact growing plant with 4” flowers.  Circle Spirit is (Slc. Seagulls Apricot x Lc. Culminant) and has great shape and color.  Jose Dias Castro is (C. labiata x Lc. Sam W. Soysa) which is now quite rare in cultivation and is the famous parent behind Lc. Susan Holquin.  There should be award winners here!

This cross has a remarkable pedigree and is sure to be a winner!  The parents include Slc. Circle of Life twice, Blc. Love Sound, and Pot. Sally Taylor.  Nice stems of 4-5 very full shaped flowers in sunset colors.

This is one of our crosses that we have re-made for spring blooming cluster reds.  The first time we sold out the cross before I could keep any for myself so I re-made it and have now set aside 12 plants for me.  These will bloom in shades of red on good stems, and will make great show plants when mature. pic of first to bloom.

Lc. Culminant ‘La Tuilerie’ AM/AOS x Slc. Circle of Life ‘Trailblazer’ AM/AOS

Circle of life (Lc. Culminant x S. coccinea) is a very successful hybrid developed by Frank Fordyce; they have excellent shaped flowers in shades of red. Here we have backcrossed Culminant to Circle of Life.  This should strengthen the stem, and increase the size of the flowers.  Colors will be intense purples to cerise red.

Clty. Pink Toy ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x Clty. Chantilly Lace ‘SVO’ 4n mutation

Here is a continuation of my Caularthron (Diacrium) breeding.  These grow really well in the summer heat of the South and Florida but also do well in more temperate conditions.  These will produce bright pink flowers with soft yellow to white lips, very feminine looking.  The 7-9 flowers will be held on strong stems above the foliage and have a sweet sent.  Pic of first to bloom

Miss Wonderful is a hybrid of (L. anceps x Lc. Mari’s Song).  It has wonderfully splashed petal flowers on a tall arching stem.  Angel Fair (Lc. Angel Heart x L. Finckeniana) also has tall stems of lavender pink splashed flowers.  Cool temperature tolerant plants, these will grow well outside in frost free areas.  Nice stems of beautifully flared flowers.

Lc. Sensational Value (C. Chocolate Drop ‘SVO’ AM/AOS x L. anceps ‘White Marble’)

I love long stems and clusters of flowers, this grex will do just that.  The deep red color of Chocolate Drop will dominant and the L. anceps with its long stem and wider petals will combine to produce a wonderful effect. Also look for moderately high flower count of 6-8 flowers.  Cool temperature tolerant plants, these will grow well outside in frost free areas.

Lc. Jose Dias Castro ‘Magnifica’ x Slc. Circle of Life ‘Fordyce Herald Angel’ AM/AOS

Both this and SVO 2427 will be excellent.  The parents are compact growers staying under 10” tall.  We are expecting intense flower colors ranging from deep-purple to purple-reds.  These will have excellent flower shape and a high potential for awards.   Jose Dias Castro ‘Magnifica’ is an excellent parent as is Circle of Life ‘Fordyce Herald Angel’.    The potential of this cross is outstanding.

Lc. Jose Dias Castro ‘Magnifica x Pot.  Rubescence ‘SVO’ AM/AOS

Both this and SVO 2426 will be excellent.  The parents are compact growers and mature plants will not be taller than 10” tall.  The flowers will be of excellent form with dark intense flower colors in shades of deep purple-red.  Look for award winners out of this paring.   The potential here is outstanding.

There is such fine pedigree in both these parents.  Winner’s Circle is (Slc. Circle of Life x Pot. Sally Taylor), and Ryo Iwata is (Blc. Oconee x Pot. Sally Taylor).  Expect flowers of wonderful shape with blooms n dark purple-reds to dark crimson-red and darker contracting lips. These will mature at 12” tall.  Another highly recommended cross.

For the first time I am trying a few clones.  This is a nice compact awarded blue from Japan.

Lc. Tahoe Rose ‘GC’  (L. purpurata x C. walkeriana)

For the first time I am trying a few clones. This is a hybrid originated by Alan Koch of Gold Country Orchids.  These is an excellent blue flower of large size on a plant about 10” tall.

Bc. Dal’s Cherry ‘Caitlin’ x (Pot. Tenterfield x Lc. Mari’s Song) ‘Rosella’

From Rosella Orchids in Australia.  Dal’s Cherry (Bc. Island Charm x C. Cherry Chip) has very colorful flowers on tall stems from a compact plant. (Pot. Tenterfield x Lc. Mari’s Song) also has great color.  Expect colorful clusters of flowers two times a year with excellent shape and substance.  Like a much improved Lc. Mari’s Song.

C. Toowong Song ‘Bette’ x Slc. Rosella Fire ‘Sunset Glow’

Also from Rosella Orchids. Toowong Song (Toowong x C. Princess Bells) has crystalline white flowers with very heavy substance and excellent shape.  Slc. Rosella Fire (Lc. Aussie Sunset x Sc. Lana Coryell) has a lovely purple flower with a splash of white across the petals.  This combination will produce well shaped flowers in a multitude of colors flowering from a compact plant.

C. Chocolate Drop ‘SVO’ AM/AOS x Pot. Ryo Iwata ‘Leucadia’ HCC/AOS

Hybrids with Chocolate Drop can create beautiful dark waxy red clusters that grow well and flower profusely.  This cross will do just that.  Pot. Ryo Iwata is (Blc. Oconee x Pot. Sally Taylor) and C. Chocolate Drop is (C. leopoldii x C. aurantiaca).   This will be larger plants with an amazing show of flowers.

Lc. Dennis Olivas ‘Best’ AM/AOS x Slc. Golden Treat ‘SVO’

Dennis Olivas is a cluster type with large heads of 20 yellow flowers and red flares.  Crossed with the solid waxy red Golden Treat, expect tall plants with cluster of yellow, orange, to red flowers and some will have red flares.  Excellent growers

(Blc. Yellow Ball x Pot. Burana Beauty) ‘Spectacular Bid’ x Blc. Izumi Charm ‘SVO AM/AOS

The (Yellow Ball x Burana Beauty) produces large heads of yellow flowers with dark red flairs that have the most heavenly fragrance.  We don’t expect yellow flowers to be fragrant so this is quite unusual.  The Izumi Charm (Lc. Melody Fair x Blc. Love Sound) is proving to be an excellent parent it imparts flower size, stem strength and bright red lips.  We hope some of the fragrance will come through. Expect a larger plant from 12-16” tall with heads of bright yellow flowers, red lips and some having red flares, with a few having a fragrance.

Blc. Guess What ‘SVO’ AM/AOS x Blc. Bouton D’or ‘Cherokee’

Bright intense orange flowers are the objective here.   Guess What produces up to nine flowers measuring 3.5” wide with brilliant orange color held high on a strong stem.   Bouton D’or is a famous breeder known for its good orange color and excellent flower shape.    These will be spectacular for the spring shows in February and March.  Great color with that wow factor. 

Sl. Tinsywinsy (L. alaorii ‘SVO II’ x Sl. Minipet ‘SVO’)

This is a micro mini-cat hybrid.  Plants are already blooming size and will mature in a 3” pot and stay under 3” tall.  Colors range from coral pink to reds with the flowers natural spread from 2” to 2.5”.  These are blooming twice a year and will form multi growth clumps over time.  Perfect for growing indoors or under lights.  The first to flowers have been beyond our expectations.  This is a really nice micro-mini cross, super small plants and relatively big flowers.

L. pumila ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x Lc. Mem. Alberto Wenzel ‘SVO’

Mem. Alberto Wenzel (C. schroderae x L. alaorii) is a nice hybrid from Brazil named by Rafael Wenzel for his father.   They look like miniaturized C. schroderiae and several have received AOS awards.  This grex was made to darken the flower color and keep the plants small.  These have been flowering like a larger and fuller L. pumila, very cool.  Excellent vigor will flower in 3”pots and mature plants will be 4” tall.

Slc. Pink Doll ‘Garnet Sea’ AM/AOS x Sl. Pole Star ‘Dan D’

What a surprise, very cute plants about 3” tall with 2” stems holding the 2 to 3 deep red flowers above the foliage. These are about as cute as an orchid gets. Bred by Dan Dickey from Santa Rosa Valley , CA

Sl. Orpetii ‘Bella Vista’ AM/AOS x Sl. Minipet ‘Flo’s Ruby’ AM/AOS

We like these micro mini-catts, they bloom at an early age, forms nice clumps and have charming flowers.  This one has S. coccinea in it linage 3 times, and pumila 2 times.  Expect large 3” flowers on plants growing less than 4” tall.  These will be vibrant reds to purple red.

These are already blooming in 3” pots.  First to bloom have been vibrant cerise purple with very good form and shape.  Plants are small and will form multiple growths in a short period of time.  A fine mini-catt hybrid.  This is advanced mini-catt breeding that is raising the bar on what has been available before.  Don’t miss this one, it’s a must have.

Slc. Armonia de Suenos ‘SVO Sunspots’ x C. Mark Jones ‘SVO’ AM/AOS

Armonia de Suenos is a compact spotted hybrid of (Slc. Jungle Gem x Lc. Varut Startrak) and produces yellow flowers with burgundy spots.  Mark Jones is a spotted Cattleya with very full shaped flowers.  These will be mostly yellow flowers with burgundy spots on a mid-size plant.pic of first to bloom.

Pot. Jungle Jumbalaya (Slc. Jungle Treasure ‘Mojave’ HCC/AOS x Blc. Waianae Leopard ‘Ching Hua’ HCC/AOS)

Jungle Treasure (Blc. Love Sound x Sl. Jungle Elf) have been bright yellow with contrasting red lips, but the spots are there just hidden. Waianae Leopard has bred some very fine spotted hybrids including the successful hybrid Blc. SunCoast Sunspots. This combination will make for yellow flowers with various types of red marking to include spots, veins and blushes.  We will also see improved flower shapes and strong stems carrion 4-6 flowers.

C. Mark Jones ‘Lance’ x C. Exotic’s Plum Leopard ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS

Mark Jones (C. Faciles x C. Caudebec) is an outstanding full shaped spotted flower and is proving to be an important parent in breeding wide petals and spots.  Here we have crossed it with Exotic’s Plum Leopard (C. Fort Motte x C. leopodlii) a beautiful purple-burgundy flower with darker burgundy spots.  These will be tall growers, expect them to mature at 18-24”.  They will make spectacular show plants with 10 or more flowers per stem approaching 4” in natural spread.  Flowers will be a dark bronze with darker spots and a bright red, spade shaped lip.  Summer blooming

Blc. Vermillion Sunset ‘Copper Nugget’ x Slc. Katherine Clarkson ‘SVO Sun Rae’

Vermillion Sunset (Blc. Orange Nugget x C. aclandiae) Sunset is orange with a red lip and a few spots in the petals.  Katherine Clarkson (C. Mark Jones x Slc. Jungle Gem) is a flat bright yellow flower with burgundy spots and a contrasting red lip. These will range in color from yellow to orange all of which will have burgundy spots and a red lip. 

Blc. Waianae Leopard ‘Chin Hua’ HCC/AOS x Slc. Jungle Gem ‘Very Nice’

This will be a mid-size plant with yellow flowers and red spots.  Waianae Leopard has large clusters of bronze flowers with spots and a red lip.  Jungle Gem (Lc. Jungle Elf x Slc. Precious Stones) is a nice bright yellow flower with red spots and red lip. Here we are expecting flowers in shades of yellow with all having red spots and red lips.  Yellow flowers with spots, cool!  These may be better than Blc. SunCoast Sunspots

C. Princess Clementine ‘SVO’ AM/AOS x Slc. Katherine Clarkson ‘SVO Sun Rae’ HCC/AOS

Princess Clementine is a primary hybrid between (C. aclandiae x C. dowiana) it is a surprisingly large flower carried 5 per stem.  We have combined it with a compact growing yellow spotted hybrid Katherine Clarkson (C. Mark Jones x Slc. Jungle Gem).  It is expected that the C. dowiana in the background of this cross will improve the flower size the C. aclandiae will add spots and as both parents are yellow; these will be compact growers with larger yellow flowers and red spots.  This is the first step in using C. dowiana in breeding for yellow flowers and red spots.  Also there should some flowers that are nicely fragrant.  This is one of those ‘very interesting’ hybrids. They could be great.

Slc. SunCoast Sunspots ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x Slc. SunCoast Sunspots ‘SVO II’ AM/AOS

This is a sibling cross of 2 of our awarded clones.  It is a cross of (Blc. Waianae Leopard x Lc. Jungle Elf).  Plants are compact and bloom with clusters of 4-6 yellow flowers spotted burgundy.  This has been the best of the yellow with spotted flower hybrids.

Slc. Orchidom Leopard ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x C. Mark Jones ‘Lance’

Orchidom Leopard (C. Leopard Jewel x C. Brabantiae) has flat, dark pink flower with burgundy spots, it is really nice.  We have paired it with the well-known spotted Mark Jones.  These will be nice full shaped pinks with burgundy spots.  This is a great hybrid for spotted Cattleya lovers!

L. tenebrosa (L. tenebrosa 'Maris Fumacia' HCC/AOS x L. tenebrosa 'Kathleen')

These are two superb tenebrosa, both have large bronze flowers with full dark purple lips.  I have been letting these get large as they were late coming out of flasks last fall, they are now ready for sale.  There are not too many are available so get them quickly.

L. albida ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x L. albida v. semi-alba, flamea ‘Fred Schull’

Seldom seen for sale this is a wonderful Mexican Laelia species.  We’ve crossed our awarded cultivar with a semi-alba, flamea.  Some should come out semi-alba (white with purple flares and lip).  Cool temperature tolerant plants, these will grow well outside in frost free areas.  Limited

L. pumila ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x L. pumila ‘Paul’

We’ve bloomed a number of these already from an earlier batch and they have all been quite good!  Look for 3.5 - 4” flowers, ranging from light to dark lavender purple.  There should be awards coming out of this grex.

L. anceps ‘Sanderiana’ x L. anceps ‘White Marble’

Our anceps crosses always sell out!  This is the sibling cross of two white varieties with purple veins in the throat.  These will produce more outstanding whites.  Cool temperature tolerant plants, these will grow well outside in frost free areas.   Limited

C. amethystoglossa ‘SVO’ 4n x self

These line bred tetraploid versions of amethystoglossa have outstanding form, large size and heavy substance.  The SVO cultivar has an unusually large and full lip of bright amethysts.  This is a grand Cattleya species with spectacular heads of pink flowers and spots.

C. intermedia v. aquinii ‘SVO Star Burst’ AM/AOS x C. intermedia v. aquinii ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS

My two best aquinii used here, both have flat flowers with horizontal petals and dark flairs.  These are what you are looking for.

C. intermedia v. aquinii, coerulea ‘SVO Blue Splash’ x self

Blue flared C. intermedia are not easy to find and ‘SVO Blue Splash’ is of exceptional quality with it flat horizontal petals.  (these plants are small)

C. harrisoniana ‘Makuu’ AM/AOS x C. harrisoniana ‘Impassionata’ HCC/AOS

This is a sibling cross of 2 fine true harrisoniana.  Tall plants with slender bulbs, the flowers are pink with yellow lips.   Not often seen for sale, these are the best parents available.

C. aclandiae v. coerulea ‘Blue Sky’ HCC/AOS x self

This is our 2nd sefling of this rare coerulea variety of aclandiae, “Blue Sky’ was the first known coerulea aclandiae and the first to be awarded.  Flowers are green with light brown spots, and a coerulea blue lip and column.  The first batch of selfing all bloom coerulea, so we are fairly confident this selfing will be the same.  Rare, limited, and very choice.

L. purpurata (‘Bion’ HCC/AOS x ‘Treasure of Carpentaria’ AM/AOS) x L. purpurata (‘Protean’ x ‘Tipo’ AM/AOS)

These will be the classic type or ‘Tipo’ form of purpurata with light lavender petals and sepals with a dark purple lip.  The cultivars in the linage of this cross read like a who’s who list.  One of the must have Cattleya species.  These are also showing good vigor.

L. anceps v. coerulea ‘SVO Blue Sky’ x L. anceps v. coerulea ‘Ft. Caroline’ HCC/AOS

This is a pairing of two fine coerulea blue varieties of L. anceps.  Also known as var. veitchiana.  This offering is limited and will sell out early!  Cool temperature tolerant plants, these will grow well outside in frost free areas.

L. anceps ‘Las Brisas’ x L. anceps ‘Ultimo’

A cross of two exceptionally fine anceps varieties.  Ultimo has been an excellent parent and Las Brisas is equally good but carries 5 flowers per stem.  This offering is limited and will sell out early!  Temperature tolerant, these will grow outside in frost free areas

L. purpurata ‘do Crente’ x L. purpurata v. carnea

These came from Allan Eggins of Rosella Orchids in Australia. The purpurata ‘do Crenta’ is a white flower with dark purple lip, the v. carnea has a white flower with pink lip. These have been showing excellent vigor and growing really well.
