Irene Finney is a classic large flowered spring blooming lavender.  Here we have paired it with the ‘Islander’s Delight’ mutation with its exceptionally large and flat white flower with dark purple flares.  Flowers will be 5” across of good full shape in shades of lavender with many having darker flares. A nice showy spring bloomer.

Pot. Fordyce Prelude ‘Pinnacle’ AM/AOS x Lc. Tokyo Magic ‘6-1’ AM/AOS)

Fordyce Prelude is a bright yellow with red splashes its parents are noteworthy (Blc. Horizon Flight x Slc. Seagull’s Apricot) and was originally made by Frank Fordyce.  Here we have combined it with Lc. Tokyo Magic (Lc. Irene Finney x L. briegeri) one of my favorite breeders.  We expect nice strong stems from the Tokyo Magic while the Fordyce Prelude will add color and flaring. Expect 4-6 splash petal yellows on a good stem.

Lc. Orchid Affair  (Lc. Mari’s Song ‘CTM 217’ HCC/AOS x C. Horace ‘Maxima’ AM/AOS)

We like to use Mari’s Song for creating splash petal Cattleyas.  This is a remake of a successful hybrid.  Horace is a proven breeder and will make for larger plants and flowers.  Expect big, full shaped flowers in lavender with many having beautifully splashed petals.

Lc. Hsinying Excell ‘DG’ HCC/AOS x L. anceps ‘Déjà vu’ AM/AOS

We are anticipating great things to come from this hybrid.  Anceps hybrids are very popular due to their beautiful flowers, long stems and temperature tolerance.  Hsinying Excell (Lc. Excellescombe x L. briegeri) carries its 5-6 light lavender flowers with dark flairs on a strong stems.  This one can be grown outdoors in frost free areas.  We expect 4-5 lavender splash petal flowers on a tall stem.

Similar to SVO 1909, but here we have used a white form of Laelia anceps.  These will tend to have lighter flower color with darker lavender flared petals.

Lc. Hsinying Excell ‘DG’ HCC/AOS x Pot. Rubescence ‘Ruby’

Hsinying Excell is light lavender flower with magenta purple flares on both sepals and petals.  Rubescence is a fine ruby red of excellent shape and size.  This cross will give a variety of flower colors from purples, pinks, reds, oranges and some with wild flares!

C. Claesinter (C. Claesiana v. coerulea 'Haneda' x C. intermedia v. aquinii, coerulea 'SVO Blue Splash')

The Claesiana (C. intermedia x C. loddigesii) is a light blue flared flower that looks like a super intermedia aquinii.  The C. intermedia ‘SVO Blue Splash’ has dark blue flare and lip, it is an excellent cultivar. Don’t miss out on these, they are very collectable grow very vigorously and look like superb C. intermedia aquinii, coerulea.

The parent C. Claesiana v. coerulea ‘Haneda’ was originally distributed as C. intermedia v. aquinii, coerulea ‘Haneda’ and received an AM/AOS award.  However, upon further review, it was determined to be the primary hybrid C. Claesiana and the award nullified.  C. Claesiana v. coerulea ‘Haneda’ is a great grower and bloomer.  And is appearing to be a good breeder as well.  Sorry for any confusion which may have arisen from the earlier listing.
